Shear Lashing

It is also spelled as "sheer lashing" and is referred to as 2-spar shear lashing. It's used to bind together 2 spars that are parallel, which will then be stretched out from the parallel position to create sheer legs, in the same way we form an A-frame. This lashing involves taking frapping twists in the middle of the poles and tying a clove hitch around just one of the legs.

How to Tie a Shear Lashing

Step 1: Begin by tying s clove hitch around one pole.

Step 2: Make 6 wraps before starting the first frap.

Step 3: Create 2 fraps in the middle of your poles.

Use a clove hitch to secure the loose ends, then finish the lashing by separating the legs.
